Benchmarking in a policy perspective: five new empirica reports published for the i2010 initiative of DG INFSO and Media

Benchmarking plays a central role in measuring progress on i2010 priorities. As i2010 succeeded the eEurope initiative, benchmarking indicators were revised and the new benchmarking framework was endorsed by the i2010 High Level Group in April 2006. The review had been carried out in a series workshops with representatives of national statistical offices and information society policy specialists from the member states. The latest benchmarking result reports developed by empirica for i2010 in 2006 and 2007 and covering all EU member states using Eurostat data from 2002 to 2006 can be found under the heading "NEW! Benchmarking in a policy perspective" on the i2010 website. These include the reports: no. 1: Reorganisation of business processes, no. 2: Use of broadband, no. 3: Take up of advanced services, no. 4: Use of public services on line (including e-Government and eHealth), no. 5: e­inclusion.
