The DigitalHealthEurope project is launching a twinning scheme on 11 June. Almost 1 million in funding is designated for more than 45 twinnings. empirica is coordinator of the DigitalHealthEurope project and specifically responsible for its twinning scheme.
In DigitalHealthEurope, twinnings will directly support the European Commission’s Communication on “enabling the digital transformation of health and care in the Digital Single Market; empowering citizens and building a healthier society”. The scheme will facilitate the transfer of digital health innovation from one European region or country to another.
Regions or countries that have implemented innovative solutions can become Twinning Originators and team up with Twinning Adopters: regions or countries seeking to innovate their digital health services. A twinning partnership may involve more than one Adopter. A DigitalHealthEurope twinning marketplace has been set up to support the matchmaking process between parties.
The twinning approach has been successfully employed in a number of EU projects and studies. DigitalHealthEurope represents empirica’s second experience with running a twinning scheme. Previously empirica oversaw the funding of 20 twinnings as part of the ScaleAHA study.
