On behalf of the European Commission, empirica organised the hybrid high-level conference “Upskilling and Reskilling in the Post-Covid Era Fostering New Services and Jobs Creation”, that took place 29: 30 June 2021. The international event attracted viewers from industry, social partners, public authorities and education and training providers. It marks a milestone in the implementation of the Pact for Skills launched by Commissioners Nicolas Schmit and Thierry Breton in November 2020. During the event it was made clear that the COVID-19 pandemic forced governments and businesses to adapt the skills of the workforce to cope with a fast-changing labour market. 33 speakers shared good practice learning cases, and possible upskilling and reskilling scenarios towards 2030. Skills4Industry is a service contract for DG GROW, carried out by empirica together with ISSIP and PwC Luxembourg.
