empirica organises two workshops at eHealth Portugal Summit

Two workshops organised by empirica will take place on the 20 and 21 of March 2019, at the 3rd Portugal eHealth Summit, in Lisbon, Portugal.

The events will bring together the new project DigitalHealthEurope and the European Blueprint on Digital Transformation of Health and Care for the Ageing Society. empirica has been part of both initiatives, as coordinator and partner respectively.

The workshop on 20 March will focus primarily on work carried out by the Blueprint Partners. This has included so far the creation of twelve personas representing the health and care needs of specific, distinct population groups. The workshop will consider the portfolio of Blueprint personas as a starting point for the further co-development of user scenarios for innovative digital solutions. Next to this, the workshop will explore DigitalHealthEurope use cases on the use of health data for research, disease prevention and the potential for large scale deployment.

The following day, 21 March, a workshop addressing the DigitalHealthEurope Collaboration platform on “Citizen’s secure access to and sharing of health data” will take place. The workshop will highlight good practice examples in the domain of digital health literacy and citizen empowerment, citizen control data governance as well as data donation. A specific objective will be to consider the three domains with a view to identifying key issues and success factors. To achieve this, each domain will be discussed by a separate expert work group.

The overarching goal of the workshops is to support the advancement of the three priorities set in the European Commission’s 2018 Communication on the Digital Transformation of Health and Care in the Digital Single Market. These refer to: 1) citizens’ access to data, (2) better data for use in research, and 3) digital tools for citizen empowerment.
