ASSESS-DHT seeks to promote the widespread adoption of reliable Digital Health Technologies (DHT) across Europe, fostering a unified digital single market. The initiative involves developing a groundbreaking assessment framework to address emerging challenges in Digital Therapeutics, AI, and telehealth. The consortium includes four HTA bodies, the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, five academic and non-profit organizations, patients, health professionals, and industry representatives.

The approach involves co-creating a comprehensive assessment framework with specialized pathways for various DHT categories, surpassing fast track models. The outcome will be a detailed HTA assessment manual and specific guides, especially on topics like cybersecurity. To ensure sustainability, ASSESS-DHT will establish a repository containing the framework, evidence library, checklists, and tools, supporting companies in evidence generation and showcasing DHT’s health system value. Online communities of practice will further facilitate collaboration within the industry.
