empirica had been asked by the Dutch government to carry out research about how supply and demand for people with e-skills will develop in the next five years in the Netherlands according to five scenarios on economic development. The forecasting model used is identical to the one used in the e-Skills Monitor project (www.eskills-monitor.eu) for the European Commission which covered the six largest EU member states and provided overall figures for the entire European Union (EU27 countries). The results for the Netherlands are therefore fully comparable to those of the other EU Member States.
