LogMeal is a Barcelona-based AI company specialised in food image recognition, nutritional analysis and food intake monitoring. Our technology identifies food items from images, estimates nutritional information and supports use cases such as patient meal tracking, food consumption analysis, collective catering, kiosk/tray scanning and food waste measurement. We provide API-based and white-label solutions for healthcare, care, research, sports, corporate catering and foodservice environments, helping organisations generate objective data on what food is served, consumed and potentially wasted.

What we are offering

LogMeal can contribute AI-based food recognition and image analysis technology to support the measurement of real food consumption and food waste in health and care environments. Our contribution could include: Image-based recognition of meals, dishes and food items. Estimation of food intake and leftover/waste by plate or tray. Nutritional analysis of detected food items. API integration with existing digital platforms or dashboards. Support for hospital, care home or collective catering pilots. Data generation to improve menu planning, kitchen efficiency, sustainability reporting and food waste reduction. Experience in deploying food recognition solutions in operational environments such as cafeterias, kiosks, healthcare and nutrition platforms. Within suHCO, LogMeal could help transform foodservice and nutrition-related workflows into measurable, data-driven processes, supporting both sustainability and operational efficiency objectives.

What we are looking for

We are looking for consortium partners with complementary expertise in healthcare, care environments, sustainability, circular economy, foodservice operations, environmental impact assessment and digital platform integration. Ideally, we would like to collaborate with organisations that can provide: Access to hospital, care home or collective catering pilot environments. Expertise in sustainability KPIs, circular economy and food waste reduction. Knowledge of healthcare and social care operational workflows. Experience in public procurement, PCP projects or EU-funded innovation tenders. Capabilities in data platforms, dashboards, interoperability or decision-support systems. Partners who can help translate food consumption and food waste data into actionable sustainability and operational recommendations. Our goal is to contribute as a technology partner, integrating LogMeal’s AI food recognition capabilities into a broader solution for sustainable health and care organisations.
